The Reign of Malfoy by AlatusAquae The Reign of Malfoy by AlatusAquae
I am a racist. I despise gingers and mudbloods. I hate Gryffindor House, and my parents work for the man who killed your parents.
Do you want to be my friend?

He looks very nice, and yes; he made a great character! Especially near the end, where he seems more a victim of Voldemort than a pure-evil Death Eater.
Great work!

Haha, this painting is actually based off the fan musical: A Very Potter Musical, in which Draco is ridiculous and rolls around on the floor and the like. (though, the actual Draco Malfoy is great too) The musical is hilarious and a while lot of fun. A couple years ago, the group went on tour and I got to go to one of their concerts, and it was a blast. One of my friends said that it was the only concert she's been to at which the singers/band wasn't too loud, but the crowd was. :D

Ah, that does sound like it was a lot of fun! From the description I did get that the painting was based off a musical rather than the movies, but I assumed the story was the same? Or was it more of a sidestory?

And I'm not sure whether that was the intention, but the link directs to a set of brushes, which are useful anyway. :p

No, it's not the same story. Parody is probably the correct word to describe it. They took everything in the seven books and kinda smashed them all together into one year. Plenty of liberties are taken with characters and events. They're all familiar and very much recognizable, just with a couple unique spins on things. :aww:

haha, let me try that link again:

Ha, I see what you mean. I watched the first twenty minutes or so, but I think I'll watch it completely. It is indeed very entertaining, and the music is so good! Not to forget the acting, the characters are just great. :XD:

So, after seeing your post about A Very Potter Musical, I realized I still hadn't watched it completely. Perhaps you can already guess what I did for the rest of the evening?
The musical was terrific. I just watched from the beginning again, and my younger sister joined me in watching for the biggest part.  It was awfully unmannered at times and that made it even better. We both had many good laughs, and obviously really enjoyed watching. :aww:
The story itself was mostly just humorous, but when you listen to the song you hear they didn't forget the deep story of Harry Potter.
It would go a bit to far to describe my reaction minute-to-minute, but here are some of my favourite moments:

- Ron eating
- Draco's anti-crush on Hermione
- Severus showing up with a hook
- Snape
- Quirrell
- Voldemort's and Quirrell's relationship
- Ron and Draco singing 'Falling in Love' (at the ball with Hermione)
- Draco rolling dramatically
- Neville expelli-armusing Draco's pants
- Harry accepting Ginny's wreath to give it to Cho
- Harry being a dick to Cedric
- Cedric delivering a punch while getting punch
- Cedric "Hufflepuffs are particular good finders!"
- Draco rolling irritated
- Draco rolling frightened
- Voldemort getting his body back (He's not going to tapdance is he? Yep, he's tapdancing)
- Draco rolling
- Draco and Pigfarts
- Draco tricking Voldemort with their Unbreakable Vow ("MALFOY YOU LITTLE SHIT") XD
- Cornelius not believing in Voldemort
- Bellatrix and Voldemort 'trying something new'
- Fourth wall breaking
- Ron and Hermione making out
- Ron Killing the Zack Efron Horcrux
- Draco being the third wheel
- Draco
- Serpensortia being used on Snape (MY WIENEEEEEEER)
- Snape "No Potter, I'll show you what to do. Watch very carefully" *dies*
- Rumbleroar
- Quirrel meeting Voldemort again
- Voldemort "Killing people doesn't make them like you. It just makes them dead"
- Quirrel and Voldemort running in slow-motion

Yep, I can definitely see why you like Malfoy so much, he was the true star.
Thank you ever so much for letting me know about this musical, it was really a blast to watch. :tighthug:

I'm glad you enjoyed it! :D Thanks for the list of favorite moments from the show too, that was fun to read! It's been a while since I've watched it (when I reblogged that tumblr post, I realized that I hadn't even heard the songs for the longest time and then went and spent the rest of the day listening to Starkid songs) so when I was reading though your list I had many moments of "Oh yeah!! I had forgotten about that! haha, that was great!!"

btw, there's also this fabulous clip of Tom Felton hearing about the AVPM portrayal of Draco: www.youtube.com/watch?v=tcEgoy…
